Live Labou Discovered in New Orleans

Feb 01, 2007

  • Since 1836 it has been thought that the species was extinct.  Many remains have been found and can be viewed at the Audubon Institute in New Orleans.  However the recent hurricane has disturbed remote parts of the swamps and it seems that the species was in fact still in existence and some families have migrated to more pedestrian regions of the swamps.
